Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the LabelInfo mobile app and the website at labelinfo.codevty.com. LabelInfo is an educational ingredient-label explainer provided as a Codevty app. LabelInfo does not require a name, email address, or password to use the app. Instead, the app creates a device-scoped guest identity protected by a credential stored on that device.

LabelInfo is not a medical device. Information may be incomplete. This is not medical advice.

Information the app handles

• Scans and images. When you take or select a product-label photo, the image, image type, scan source, selected output language, and optional personalization selections are sent through the LabelInfo backend to Google Gemini for analysis. The backend stores the resulting visible text, product identity, package facts and claims, ingredient context, confidence and evidence details, requested follow-up captures, and technical analysis metadata. The original image is not stored in the LabelInfo cloud scan record.
• Optional personalization. Selections such as vegan, vegetarian, kosher, halal, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, or pets are saved locally for future scans. Selected preferences are also included in a scan request and may be reflected in the saved result so the analysis can adjust emphasis. These choices do not authorize LabelInfo to decide whether a product is suitable for you.
• Product questions. Premium users may open a scan-specific chat. LabelInfo stores the questions, answers, status, and timestamps with that scan. The saved scan details and that thread's messages are sent to DeepSeek to answer the question. The original scan image, device credential, and other scan conversations are not sent to DeepSeek.
• Saved history and feedback. The backend stores device-scoped scan history, scan usage and rewarded-scan credits, and any short feedback message you choose to submit.
• Device and security information. LabelInfo stores a random device identifier locally, a random guest credential in secure device storage, a one-way hash of that credential in the backend, and timestamps used to maintain and protect the guest identity.
• Notifications. If you enable notifications, LabelInfo may store an Expo push token, platform, device identifier, registration status, delivery status, and related error or timing information.
• Purchases and subscriptions. If you purchase or restore Premium, LabelInfo and RevenueCat receive product, store, entitlement, purchase, renewal, expiration, billing-status, and subscription-management information. Apple or Google handles your payment details; LabelInfo does not receive your full card or bank-account number.
• Advertising. For users without an active Premium entitlement, Google Mobile Ads and participating mediation partners, which may include Meta Audience Network, may process IP address, device or advertising identifiers, approximate location inferred from IP, ad views and interactions, app interaction, and diagnostic information to request, deliver, limit, secure, and measure native, interstitial, rewarded, banner, or app-open ads.
• Local app data. Captured images, scan-preview images, preferences, notification choices, rate-app state, and ad-eligibility counters may be stored on the device. The local capture history is limited to the latest 100 images.

Camera and photo-library access is used only when you open the relevant capture or image-selection feature. LabelInfo does not access your microphone, contacts, precise location, or payment-card details.

How information is used

• Analyze the product in front of you and provide evidence-linked educational explanations.
• Save and search device-scoped scan history and keep a scan-specific question thread.
• Apply scan limits, rewarded credits, Premium access, language, and optional preference emphasis.
• Send scan-ready, reminder, or test notifications you have enabled.
• Deliver and measure ads for non-Premium users, prevent invalid traffic, and troubleshoot ad delivery.
• Process feedback, secure the service, investigate errors or misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

LabelInfo does not use scan content to make a legal, medical, employment, credit, insurance, or product-suitability decision about you.

Service providers and disclosures

LabelInfo uses the following providers for the stated purposes:

• Google Gemini for product-image analysis and structured scan output.
• DeepSeek for the optional, scan-specific Premium question feature.
• Convex for the application backend, database, remote configuration, and device-scoped history.
• Expo for push-notification delivery and token services.
• RevenueCat, Apple, and Google for purchases, subscription validation, entitlement management, and store records.
• Google Mobile Ads and mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and ad diagnostics.
• Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery, and security.

We also may disclose relevant information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal process, to protect users or the service, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the service subject to applicable law.

Where a provider processes information on our behalf, we require appropriate contractual and security protections consistent with this policy and applicable law. Some providers, including app stores and advertising partners, may also process information as independent businesses under their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

Advertising and tracking choices

We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising-related disclosures may, however, be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under some privacy laws. LabelInfo may request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission before an advertising partner tracks activity across other companies' apps or websites. Declining that permission does not remove ads and does not stop processing needed for contextual or limited ads, security, or basic measurement.

You can change tracking permissions in iOS settings and reset or limit the advertising identifier through your device or Google settings. Where law requires an additional advertising-consent or opt-out choice, the applicable consent mechanism must be honored. An active Premium entitlement prevents LabelInfo from requesting in-app ad placements while that entitlement is recognized.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Backend scans, chat threads, feedback, notification records, usage records, and the device-scoped identity are generally retained until you delete the related scan or use Settings → Data & privacy → Delete my saved data. The in-app deletion request removes the guest identity and associated LabelInfo backend records immediately from the active database. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in provider backups, security logs, or legal records until their normal deletion cycle ends or a legal obligation expires.

Local images and preferences remain on the device until you remove the related item, delete saved data, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Analysis, advertising, store, and subscription providers may retain records under their own documented schedules. Deleting LabelInfo data does not cancel a store subscription or erase transaction records that Apple, Google, or RevenueCat must retain independently. See Delete Saved Data for the exact process.

Security

LabelInfo uses encrypted network connections, a high-entropy credential stored in secure device storage, a one-way credential hash in the backend, authorization checks on device-scoped records, and access controls around service credentials. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not scan content you are not authorized to process or content that contains unnecessary personal information.

Legal bases and international processing

Depending on where you live, we process information to provide the features you request and perform our agreement with you; based on your consent for optional permissions or processing where required; for legitimate interests such as service security, support, fraud prevention, and reliable operation; and to meet legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through the relevant app, device, or provider settings, but this does not affect processing already completed.

LabelInfo and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, international transfers rely on recognized safeguards, contractual protections, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Your privacy rights

Depending on local law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information; object to or opt out of certain processing; withdraw consent; appeal a decision about a request; or complain to a privacy regulator. The app's guest design means we may need the device-scoped identity or credential to verify that a record belongs to you, and we cannot expose another user's record without verification.

You can delete individual scans, disable notifications, change camera, photo, or tracking permissions, manage the store subscription, or delete all saved LabelInfo data from the app. For another privacy request, contact [email protected] with “LabelInfo privacy request” in the subject. We will respond as required by applicable law.

Age limits

LabelInfo is intended for people aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so the record can be reviewed and deleted where required.

Website privacy

The LabelInfo website is static and does not include account forms, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or remote image uploads. We do not add marketing cookies. Cloudflare may process standard request data, such as IP address, browser information, requested page, security signals, and timestamps, and may use strictly necessary security measures to deliver and protect the website.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate app, website, or store notice where required. The effective date above identifies the current version.
